Touch with intent:
Most of us muddle on through our days doing this and that as habitual activities without much thought at all - as if on auto pilot. We pay no attention to the task in hand, be it mundane or pleasurable. Often we cant even remember we how we completed a task,or got from A to B. Living this way we miss out on so many of the finer nuances of life. The same can be said of our relationships too.
With lifes pressures we tend to live in our heads and listen to the many pervading thoughts that fly around, often believeing them to be true. However, it is becoming increasingly recognised how the body plays a major role in our experinces, in fact, it is my belief that the body is more trustworthy than the mind as it doesnt have the capacity to stry tell, or make meaning - rather, it invites our felt sense awareness in the form of sensation - physical and/or energetic (pressure/temperature - inner knowing). It calls us to embodied presence.
Touch with Intent means we bring full presence and conscious intention to offer a particular type of touch (nurture/comfort/playful/loving,healing etc) - to ourselves, or to others Therefore you can experience the power of unconditional love all for yourself. When was the last time that happened to you?
We offer you total presence during the session and focus entirely on YOU. That means with all our attention- our eyes, ears, mind, compassion and breath. We invite you to bring yourself totally to the session and will guide you into relaxation if needed. We work with compassionate communication which means our practitioners are there to listen to what you really want or need in that moment. We do not have an agenda or technique. We respond rather than initiate.
We know only too well that often we have no idea what we need in each moment. Thats OK. Few of us have such refined self awareness and also we dont even know whats available to us. And so our practitioners will offer to demonstrate what they can offer you. It may be holding your hand, it may be stroking your face. It could be a firm hug or soft holding. It could be a back scratch, foot massage, shoulder rub. There is so much can be offered - and of course you are welcome to ask for something you really fancy right in that moment.
Both you and the practitioner are encouraged to set boundaries as this is how safety and trust are developed. Everything that is offered to you is an invitation NEVER an instruction. saying NO thank you shows signs of a healthy self worth and helps make the experience much more enjoyable - for you the receiver, and the giver.
And, whilst the experience of receiving touch from another is essential there may be times its not possible, and so we also share simple self conscious touch practices which can have the same deeply profound effect. Personal presence, lisening and responding to your bodies messages/desires is ultimate self care/self love practice
